Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer for Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The Gigafactory design team drives to create the factory of the future by overseeing the design of cutting-edge large-scale equipment and utility systems in support of highly innovating manufacturing processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to detailed design development, balancing product specs, equipment/component needs, layout complexity, cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Expertise in medium/low voltage (MV/LV) design and installation.
  • Proficiency with MV switchgears, transformers, LV main switchgears, sub-distribution panels, and secondary setups like protection, control, interlocks, and communications.
  • Skills in breaker coordination, selectivity, time-curves, and load flow analysis.
  • Sizing parameters for power distribution equipment and components.
  • Familiarity with indoor/outdoor lighting controls.
  • Generate schematics and layouts for power supply, equipment, and panels using single lines and wiring diagrams in Revit.
  • Plan MV/LV cable routing via trays, ladders, and conduits for underground/above-ground installations.
  • Supervise contractors to execute scopes efficiently.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and teams including construction, quality, testing, and commissioning.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent exceptional ability.
  • 3-5 years in electrical building design.
  • Background managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in low-voltage power distribution, lighting systems, grounding/lightning protection, and very low-voltage setups like IT passive infrastructure, fire alarms, and surveillance.
  • Clash coordination skills and familiarity with Navisworks/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Involvement in German/European mixed-use projects (commercial, residential, or industrial).
  • Advanced command of Revit, Simaris, Dialux, Dialux EVO, and Dehn.
  • Knowledge of German codes such as VDE and DIN.
  • Industrial building background is advantageous.
  • Strong communication abilities, ideally in German and English.
