Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing field technical services for Siemens Energy combustion turbine-generators and associated auxiliary systems including commissioning, fact finding, trouble shooting, combustion dynamics & emissions tuning, and periodic support of new unit installations.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the flawless functioning of Siemens Energy’s combustion turbine-generators and associated systems. Your contributions will primarily involve commissioning, fact-finding, fixing, combustion dynamics, and emissions tuning. Additionally, you will support new unit installations periodically.
  • You will provide outstanding metrology and alignment services using CAD and GD&T experience with portable CMM equipment and advanced scanning technologies. Your work will determine the precision and reliability of our turbine-generators.
  • You will apply modal and vibration analysis to improve the performance and longevity of Siemens Energy’s steam and combustion turbine-generators. This critical role will involve balancing and optimizing equipment to ensure world-class operations.
  • Your expertise in steam turbine commissioning will be crucial. You will be responsible for commissioning, fixing, valve stroking, timing, and providing periodic support for new unit installations, ensuring the seamless operation of our steam turbine-generators.
  • You will maintain a safety-first approach, ensuring safe working conditions at all times. Your role will involve traveling to customer sites across the US and internationally, with up to 80% travel required. You will lead teams of mechanics and collaborate with different levels of customer organizations.
  • Crafting detailed reports will require strong communication abilities. You will work both independently and within a team, leading initiatives and striving for continuous process improvements.

What You Bring

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience. Ideally, 5 years of proven experience in a relevant field.
  • Advanced field experience in the Power Generation or Oil and Gas Industries. Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Commissioning of turbine-generator auxiliary systems
  • Combustion Dynamics Tuning
  • Metrology and Alignment
  • Modal and Vibration Analysis
  • Turbine-Generator Startup and Operations (T3000 knowledge is a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and written instructions/procedures.
