Responsibilities:
Boswell Lead Substation Design Engineers are responsible for:
- Designing of medium voltage, high voltage and extra high voltage substations necessary for safe and reliable operation of the transmission and distribution systems that meet the mission and objectives of Utility Clients
- Reviewing, developing and/ or modifying specifications for substation equipment, materials and system operations; Providing appropriate design resolutions, and supporting new construction or in service retrofit projects including responding to events that require unplanned maintenance or repair
- Sharing accountability with peers in the planning, project management, construction site coordination and safety to carry out the efficient and timely completion of new construction, reliability projects, generation interconnection and system restoration and troubleshooting projects
- Providing on-site Client technical support as needed including onsite kick off meetings, engineering reviews, pre-bid meetings for electrical and civil construction, construction support and/ or as-build process meetings and resolution of complex issues including overall execution of D&E strategy and Project Management support
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with MS preferred and active PE license(s)
- 5+ Years of Experience Designing Utility T&D Substations
- Trained in Substation Safety Access
- Familiar with QA/QC Processes, AutoCAD & Auto CAD 3D
- Familiar with NESC, IEEE Substation and High Voltage Equipment standards
