Interview with Robert le Roux

If a factory has been relocated, we specify that the same staff must be involved to ensure continuity of manufacture.

Our guest today is Robert le Roux, Senior Technical Specialist at ESB. Robert, you are based in Dublin, Ireland, but your background is in South Africa. You have had an interesting professional career. Can you give us more details about it?

le Roux: I grew up in South Africa and did my training with Eskom. My first job was the commissioning of the 765 kV system in South Africa. This included transformers, reactors, and switchgear, which was extremely interesting. I also worked in Eskom R&D. I then moved to the Middle East and worked for ESB in Bahrain, where I was in charge of transformer replacement on the network, as well as maintenance of the existing fleet.
