Switchgear Magazine is pleased to interview two leading lights in power systems digitalisation and open source software. Please introduce yourselves.
Sander Jansen My name is Sander Jansen. I am a Product Owner at Alliander, working on software-defined substations, and, therefore, an active contributor to Linux Foundation (LF) Energy projects.
Nico Rikken I am Nico Rikken, an Open Source Advocate and Ambassador at the Open Source Programme Office (OSPO) at Alliander. I have been in this role since 2019. It involves multiple responsibilities. One
aspect is policy for open source compliance, but the more enjoyable part is supporting the open source projects we have and enabling internal projects to become open source. Most of my focus is on CoMPAS Configuration Modules for Power industry Automation Systems], rather than the general engineering substation automation projects.
