USA, South Carolina: TS Conductor has officially opened a new $134 M manufacturing facility in Hardeeville, South Carolina, with a grand opening ceremony held on 13 May. The company produces next-generation advanced conductors designed to expand power grid capacity and reduce costs.
The 28,000-m2 (301,275-sq-ft) site, located in Clarius Park, will manufacture advanced carbon-core conductors used in transmission lines, including applications in HVDC systems. It is the first phase of a planned three-stage expansion, with total investment expected to reach $134 M across all phases and future growth potentially adding another one million square feet.
The project is expected to create 462 advanced manufacturing jobs at full capacity, with 288 roles already in place and further hiring ongoing. TS Conductor is working with local workforce programmes, including SC Works, readySC and the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, to support training and recruitment.
Company representatives said the facility will help accelerate grid expansion by enabling utilities to significantly increase transmission capacity while lowering overall system costs. It is also intended to strengthen domestic supply chains for advanced energy infrastructure.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said the investment reflects confidence in the state’s workforce and supports energy security while creating new opportunities for Jasper County.
The project has also received continued federal support, including $28 M from the US Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Deployment Office.
TS Conductor said the Hardeeville site represents an investment in both industrial growth and future energy infrastructure needs, with further expansion planned as part of its long-term development strategy.
