Austria, Schrems: Eaton has expanded its manufacturing facility in Schrems, adding 5,000 m² of production space to support growing demand for electrical protection and power management equipment across Europe.
The expansion includes fully automated miniature circuit breaker production as well as increased capacity for low-voltage systems assembly. Eaton said the project was completed in less than ten months.
The facility incorporates digital manufacturing technologies, including a manufacturing execution system that connects production, intralogistics and enterprise systems in real time. The system is designed to improve production transparency and enable faster responses to changing customer requirements.
End-to-end product traceability and integrated quality systems have also been introduced across the expanded production area.
Eaton said the additional capacity is intended to serve demand from electrification, digitalisation and critical infrastructure applications requiring highly available electrical power systems.
The company is also developing workforce capabilities in automation, digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies at the Schrems site, supported by partnerships with local schools and its Connected Learning Center, opened in 2024.
