China, Wuzhong: The energy storage interval at the Tongli 330-kilovolt substation in Wuzhong, Ningxia, operated by State Grid Wuzhong Power Supply Company, has been completed and is ready for operation. This marks a key step toward connecting the 300 MW / 600 MWh shared energy storage power station at the Juneng Sunjiatan substation to the grid.
The expansion faced challenges such as limited space and dense existing equipment. In response, a dedicated technical team conducted detailed analyses, simulations, and evaluations to create a thorough construction and safety plan. Strict adherence to safety protocols during installation, commissioning, and testing ensured high-quality and timely completion.
This milestone supports the region’s shift toward clean energy. State Grid Wuzhong Power Supply Company will now focus on strengthening grid infrastructure, promoting intelligent systems, and enhancing grid flexibility and reliability to meet increasing clean energy demand and support low-carbon regional development.
