Poland: Føn Energy Services Poland has signed a multi-year contract with Baltic Power to provide integrated operations and maintenance services for the Baltic Power offshore wind farm in Poland.
The multi-million-euro agreement covers balance of plant operations and maintenance for subsea assets, including foundations and cables. The scope also includes inspection, corrective maintenance, project management, planning, vessel chartering, logistics, engineering and procurement.
Føn Energy Services will also carry out environmental survey work to monitor marine growth and animal habitats around the offshore wind farm. The company said local Polish suppliers will support delivery of the services.
Baltic Power, a joint venture between ORLEN and Northland Power, is Poland’s most advanced offshore wind project and the first in the country to reach the construction phase. The project will include 76 turbines, each with a capacity of 15 MW, and is expected to cover around 3 % of Poland’s electricity demand.
Føn Energy Services said the contract marks an important step in establishing its presence in the Polish offshore wind market. The company plans to build a local set-up and work with regional partners throughout the project’s operational life.
Baltic Power said the development of the supply chain for the project’s operations and maintenance phase is creating new logistics, maintenance and employment opportunities, including through its O&M base in Łeba.
The contract strengthens Føn Energy Services’ position in the offshore wind sector. The company has previously delivered integrated O&M services for major offshore wind projects in Scotland, including Moray West and Moray East.
