India, Uttar Pradesh, Dadri: Fujiyama Power Systems has commissioned a 1 GW solar cell manufacturing plant at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, marking a major step in strengthening its domestic production capabilities.
The new facility, built with an investment of $32.6 M (Rs 300 crore) through a mix of internal funds and debt, will supply solar cells entirely for the company’s own panel operations. Fujiyama currently has 1.6 GW of solar panel manufacturing capacity, including 1.2 GW at Dadri.
Solar cells are a core component of panels, and increasing domestic production aligns with government efforts to reduce import dependence. “This facility enhances integration across our manufacturing process, giving us better control over the supply chain, lowering reliance on imported cells, and ensuring stable panel production,” said Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director.
Completed in just six months, the plant will produce mono PERC DCR (domestic content requirement) solar cells. These cells comply with government DCR norms, which encourage the use of Made-in-India components in solar projects, supporting local industry while making projects eligible for subsidies.
The company said the expansion positions Fujiyama to meet growing domestic demand for solar panels and strengthens India’s push toward self-reliant renewable energy manufacturing.
