India, Gujarat: Godrej Enterprises Group says its Energy Solutions business is increasing its involvement in Gujarat’s renewable power expansion through a growing portfolio of transmission projects. The company aims to raise the state’s contribution to its division’s revenue from the current 15–20 % to around 25 % by FY27.
A key part of this strategy is the construction of a 400 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation equipped with a 1.2 GW power system stabiliser. The facility is designed to improve power evacuation from renewable projects in the region. Godrej is also executing a 765 kV GIS bay extension, which will support power flow between Khavda, Lakadia, Banaskantha and Ahmedabad. Both projects are designed to operate in the challenging climatic conditions of Kutch, where large renewable projects are being developed.
The company reports that its Energy Solutions business has an order book exceeding $203 M (₹1,800 crore) for FY25, with Gujarat contributing a significant share. The state currently has over 35 GW of installed renewable energy capacity and has set a target of 50 % renewable capacity by 2030. Much of the future growth is linked to the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, a large-scale development that is expected to play a central role in India’s clean energy targets.
Company executives say these projects aim to support India’s broader goal of reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power by 2030 through stronger grid infrastructure and renewable integration.
