India, Uttar Pradesh, Greater Noida: Two new 33/11 kV power substations will be built at Badalpur and Astauli in Greater Noida to meet rising electricity demand.
The Badalpur substation will serve nearby villages, including Achheja and Sadopur. The Astauli substation will support the local waste disposal centre and surrounding areas. Work on both substations is expected to be completed within six months.
According to Vivek Kumar Patel, Superintending Engineer at the Noida power department, PVVNL, the projects are expected to improve power supply in both urban and rural parts of Greater Noida. He said the substations are planned to become operational by the end of the year.
Further substations are also being planned for Patwari to support future demand in Greater Noida West, where residential and commercial development is expanding rapidly. Proposals have already been drafted for these projects, which are intended to strengthen electricity supply in Greater Noida West and nearby villages.
A dedicated 220 kV power substation is also planned on an 8,945 m² plot in Ecotech-10. This project is intended to meet the growing energy needs of the industrial sector.
Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chief Engineer at the Noida power department, PVVNL, said the power supply infrastructure is being reinforced to strengthen the overall distribution system in Greater Noida and improve reliability for both industries and residents in GB Nagar.
