Malaysia, Selangor: HE Group Berhad has secured a Letter of Award worth about $20 M (RM 86 M) for the construction of a substation project in Selangor, Malaysia. The contract was awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hexatech Engineering Sdn. Bhd.

Under the agreement, the company will be responsible for building a 132 kV/33 kV substation. The project is scheduled for completion by 31 October 2027.

The group said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its financial performance over the duration of the works. With this latest award, HE Group’s order book stood at approximately $38 M (RM 150 M) as at 11 May 2026, providing continued project flow and earnings visibility.

Managing Director Haw Chee Seng said the new contract further reinforces the company’s experience in substation and power distribution system projects, particularly those involving key electrical infrastructure. He added that the group’s ongoing projects continue to support its financial outlook.

He also noted that HE Group is increasing its focus on sectors supported by longer-term growth trends, including data centres, semiconductor-related industries, and renewable energy infrastructure. He highlighted Malaysia’s role as a growing regional hub for digital and technology investment, supported by ongoing energy transition efforts and supply chain development.

The company said these trends are expected to create further opportunities for future contracts in related segments as demand for infrastructure continues to develop.
