USA, Pennsylvania, Harleysville: Mission Critical Group (MCG) has opened a new manufacturing facility in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, marking its third site in the state as it expands capacity to support growing demand for AI, data centres and other mission critical infrastructure.
The company, an end-to-end provider of power systems and solutions, said the new facility adds more than 24,700 m2 (266,000 sq ft) of manufacturing space. It will increase production of low-voltage switchgear and strengthen MCG’s ability to deliver electrical infrastructure for utilities, data centres, and other high-power applications.
According to MCG, the Harleysville site will help improve production timelines and speed up delivery for customers by expanding manufacturing capability and supporting faster project execution.
CEO Jeff Drees said the expansion is an important step in the company’s growth strategy and its focus on speed, quality and reliability. He added that the new facility strengthens MCG’s presence in the Northeast and positions the company to meet long-term demand for critical power infrastructure.
The Harleysville campus is located near MCG’s existing North Wales facility. Both sites will work together to increase switchgear production and support metal fabrication operations, helping the company scale output in line with customer requirements.
Limited operations for training purposes began in May, while full production is expected to ramp up in September 2026.
The expansion is also expected to create around 300 new jobs in the region.
