Philippines, Cavite: Meralco has energised its newly built Osorio (Conchu) Substation in Cavite, Philippines, strengthening the province’s electricity distribution network and supporting rising power demand.
The new facility is designed to improve system capacity, reliability and resilience for customers in Trece Martires City and General Trias. It will support residential communities as well as commercial, institutional and public service facilities that require stable electricity supply.
The substation includes an 83 MVA power transformer bank, three 115 kV gas circuit breakers, six 115 kV disconnect switches, new 115 kV sub-transmission lines and a modern control house. The control house is equipped with 34.5 kV indoor modular switchgear.
According to Meralco, the project will help improve electricity service for several important local facilities, including Trece Martires City Hall, City of General Trias Doctors Medical Center, Lyceum of the Philippines University, and Eagle Ridge Golf and Residential Estates.
The Osorio Substation forms part of Meralco’s continuing investment in the modernisation and expansion of its distribution system. The company is upgrading its network to keep pace with urban development, economic activity and the growing electricity needs of communities across its franchise area.
By adding new substation capacity and supporting infrastructure, Meralco aims to improve system redundancy, strengthen reliability and provide safer and more dependable electricity supply in Cavite.
