Europe: Octopus Energy has announced a $683 M (£501.32 M) investment in onshore wind projects across Europe through its Sky fund.

The investment covers 17 wind farm sites in France, Germany and Poland, adding a combined generation capacity of 321 MW. According to the company, the projects are expected to supply renewable electricity to more than 250,000 homes.

France represents the largest share of the investment, with ten wind farms totalling 143.5 MW located across several regions including Brittany, Grand Est and Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Once fully operational, the French sites are expected to provide electricity for around 65,000 homes annually.

In Germany, Octopus acquired four wind farms with a combined capacity of 102.5 MW across Lower Saxony, Brandenburg, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg. Two sites are already operational, while two remain under construction. Together, they are expected to supply around 71,000 homes.

The company also acquired three operating wind farms in northern Poland with a total capacity of 75 MW. These projects are expected to generate enough electricity for approximately 120,000 homes each year.

Octopus stated that the acquisitions strengthen its position in key European renewable energy markets as countries continue shifting from fossil fuels towards cleaner energy systems. The company now manages 67 onshore wind farms across several European countries and oversees more than 400 renewable energy projects globally.
