USA / Brazil: Preformed Line Products Company has acquired Delta Star Conectores Elétricos Ltda., a Brazil-based producer of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substation connectors.
Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Salto, Brazil, Delta Star specialises in engineered connector solutions designed to support long-term grid reliability. The company has established relationships with major substation equipment manufacturers and operates in the HV and EHV market segments.
According to PLP, the acquisition supports its strategy to expand its global substation hardware platform and strengthen technical capabilities across key regions. The deal follows earlier acquisitions of substation-related businesses in Austria, Brazil and Mexico, further broadening the company’s international presence.
PLP stated that Delta Star’s engineering expertise, manufacturing capabilities and supply-chain support will contribute to the continued development of its growing substation business in the Americas, including the United States market.
Company representatives noted that the acquisition is intended to enhance support for utilities and EPC companies through a wider portfolio of products designed for evolving grid requirements and infrastructure investment.
The move reflects ongoing consolidation and expansion activity within the substation equipment sector as manufacturers seek to strengthen regional supply capabilities and respond to increasing demand for grid infrastructure.
