USA, Virginia: Siemens has announced plans to expand its manufacturing capacity in the United States through a new facility operated in partnership with Jabil in Prince George County, Virginia.

The 27,870 m2 (300,000-sq-ft) site, located at the Crosspointe Logistics Center, will focus on producing medium-voltage switchgear and integrated power distribution systems. The investment is aimed at improving delivery speed for energy infrastructure projects, particularly those driven by rapid growth in data centres and wider electrification needs.

The facility will require a $30 M investment covering equipment, tooling, production readiness and operational setup. Once operational, it is expected to create at least 350 jobs and begin production in autumn 2026.

According to Siemens, the expansion will help customers in data centres, utilities and industrial sectors bring new power infrastructure online more quickly and with greater reliability. The increased production capacity is also intended to strengthen domestic supply chains and reduce project delays.

Brian Dula, President of the Electrification and Automation business unit at Siemens Smart Infrastructure USA, said: “By adding additional avenues to expand dedicated manufacturing of Siemens‑designed switchgear and power delivery solutions here in the U.S., we’re helping customers shorten project timelines and improve delivery confidence — while reinforcing a resilient domestic supply chain.”

“Our new Prince George facility will help us build the energy management solutions Siemens needs to meet customers’ growing power requirements with greater speed and scale,” said Brent Tompkins, Global Business Units, Renewables and Energy Infrastructure at Jabil.
