South Korea, Ulsan: SK Telecom has expanded its partnership with Schneider Electric to accelerate the development of its AI Data Center (AIDC) in Ulsan. The latest agreement covers the supply of key Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) equipment including UPS systems, transformers, switchgear, and automated control systems.
This collaboration, first announced at MWC25, also includes the integration of Schneider’s ETAP digital twin software into SK Telecom’s unified AI DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) platform. The goal: real-time monitoring, optimised energy use, and smarter operations.
A new Memorandum of Understanding will extend the partnership across SK Group affiliates. Joint efforts will now focus on energy storage systems, lithium-ion battery tech with SK On, and prefabricated infrastructure to speed up construction.
Pankaj Sharma of Schneider Electric called the partnership “a milestone in setting a new standard for AI data centres.” Ryu Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, added that the deal supports SK’s broader “AI pyramid” strategy and the future gigawatt-scale expansion of its Ulsan facility.
The companies are also working together on MEP reference designs, automated controls, and an Energy-as-a-Service business model. With demand for smarter, greener data infrastructure rising, this partnership aims to set a benchmark for next-generation AI data centres—within SK and beyond.
