India, Rajasthan: SPML Infra Limited has won a contract worth $17.34 M (Rs 1.65 B) from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited for the development of a 400 kV grid substation and related transmission infrastructure at Dahra in Kota, Rajasthan.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months and forms part of the company’s regular business activities.
The scope of work includes the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the 400 kV substation, featuring one 500 MVA autotransformer bay, one 420 kV 125 MVAR bus-type shunt reactor bay, two 400 kV feeder bays and three 400 kV tie bays. The contract also covers associated civil works, automation systems, communication infrastructure and integration of high-capacity transmission equipment.
SPML Infra said the order strengthens its presence in high-voltage substation and transmission projects while supporting its broader focus on battery energy storage systems and sustainable infrastructure.
The company noted that Rajasthan’s growing renewable energy sector is increasing the need for stronger transmission infrastructure to support the evacuation and distribution of renewable and conventional power across the state.
SPML Infra has more than four decades of experience across power, water, environmental and technology sectors, having completed over 700 projects across India. The company said the new contract is expected to support growth in its power transmission business and expand its portfolio of government-funded infrastructure projects.
Construction schedules, milestones and commissioning activities will be carried out in line with the agreement signed with RRVPNL.
