Ukraine: Ukrainian drones disabled 12 electrical substations and one gas distribution station across temporarily occupied territories over a 48-hour period on 1 and 2 July.
The strikes affected energy infrastructure in occupied Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Details of the operation were reported in a statement by Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the reported list of targets, the facilities included 35 kV, 110 kV, 220 kV and 330 kV electrical substations in several locations across Crimea, including Karyerne, Mytyayeve, Feodosia, Shyroke, Arkadiivka, Vypasne and Krylovka.
The reported targets also included an electrical substation at the Starobesheve Thermal Power Plant in Novyi Svit, Donetsk region, an electrical substation in Tymonove, Luhansk region, and a gas distribution station in Aidar, Luhansk region.
In addition, Ukrainian drone units reportedly struck a fuel and lubricants depot in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region.
The attacks form part of a wider Ukrainian campaign against energy, logistics and military infrastructure supporting Russian forces. Recent long-range drone operations have also targeted oil refining and fuel infrastructure inside Russia and in occupied territories.
The latest strikes followed a separate drone attack on an oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, around 800 km from the Ukrainian border, which reportedly caused a major fire at the industrial site.
Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have also reported earlier strikes on facilities including underground gas storage, radar stations, fuel transport assets and military command posts.
