Germany, Munich: CHINT presented a range of grid and power technologies at Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, with a focus on the changing requirements of European power systems.
As renewable generation, electrification and AI-related power demand continue to grow, electricity networks are facing increasing pressure to support higher flexibility, grid stability and faster connection of new loads. This is driving demand for technologies that can support more resilient and efficient power infrastructure.
Among the solutions highlighted were SF₆-free medium-voltage switchgear rated at 24 kV, designed to support compliance with EU F-gas regulations, and modular prefabricated substations intended to reduce on-site installation time for utility-scale solar and wind projects.
CHINT also presented technologies for next-generation DC architectures, including solid-state transformer concepts capable of supporting native 800 V DC output without intermediate conversion. For utility-scale energy storage, the company highlighted cascading storage systems with direct grid connection up to 35 kV, independent per-phase control and grid-forming capability.
Additional technologies included centralised 10 MW power conversion systems for large-scale storage projects, residential PV protection and control solutions, and 800 V AC distribution platforms for commercial and industrial solar applications.
The company also pointed to growing interest in solid-state circuit breakers, grid-forming storage and integrated power systems as Europe addresses grid congestion, connection delays and the power requirements of AI infrastructure.
The technologies presented reflect wider industry trends towards SF₆-free equipment, modular substations, higher-efficiency electrical architectures and more flexible grid operation.
