Assam invites bids for substation in 1 GW solar project

The project is partly financed by the Asian Development Bank.

India, Assam: The Assam Power Distribution Co. Ltd has issued a tender for the construction of a 400 kV / 33 kV pooling substation for 1 GW (750 MW) solar PV plant in Karbi Anglong district, Assam, on a turnkey basis.

The project scope includes design, engineering, erection, testing and commissioning of the pooling substation.

The solar project has a total estimated cost of $672.68 M, funded through $434.25 M from ADB, $108.66 M from the government, and $129.77 M from a private sector project loan (not administered by ADB). A portion of the ADB financing will be allocated for contract payments.
