Romania, Târgu Mureș: Romanian electricity and natural gas distributor Delgaz Grid, a subsidiary of German utility E.ON, has finalised the construction of a new transformer substation in the eastern city of Onești, Bacău county, following an investment of over 22.7 million lei ($4.7 million). The new station, operationalised at the end of last month, serves over 31000 customers in Onești and the surrounding area, enabling better services by increasing the degree of continuity in supply and the quality-of-service distribution. The investment increased the connection capacity for new consumers, prosumers, and producers of green energy.
As part of the project, the company developed 1.3 km of 110 kV network with two circuits and the station itself, which includes two transformers and specific equipment for power distribution at a voltage of 20 kV. The station is SCADA-integrated (System Control and Data Acquisition), allowing it to be monitored and controlled remotely.
This investment is part of a larger project, which also includes the modernisation of the Letea transformer station near the city of Bacău. The project is worth over 100 million lei, including approximately 67 million lei covered by non-refundable co-financing from the European Union’s Modernisation Fund.
