Germany, North Sea: DEME has been awarded a contract to transport and install inter-array cables for the Nordseecluster B offshore wind farm in Germany, marking the next stage of construction for the large-scale renewable energy project.
The company will install approximately 124 km of inter-array cables, connecting 60 wind turbine foundations to the offshore substation. The scope of work includes engineering, preparation, and associated support activities.
Located about 50 km north of the island of Juist, the Nordseecluster will have a total capacity of up to 1.6 GW when fully operational. The project is jointly owned by RWE (51 %) and Norges Bank Investment Management (49 %), with RWE overseeing construction and operations.
Once completed, the Nordseecluster will contribute to Germany’s offshore wind expansion targets and strengthen renewable energy generation in the North Sea region.
