Italy, Milan: Limes Renewable Energy, a global developer specialising in solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems, has finalised the sale of a 287 MW renewable energy portfolio in Italy. The portfolio, divided equally between solar PV and wind projects, was acquired by an international Independent Power Producer with operations in Italy. This deal underscores Limes’ expertise and reinforces its strong presence in the Italian renewable energy market.

The transaction includes 50 MWp of already authorised solar PV projects. Limes will continue to support the portfolio’s development until all assets are ready for construction, assisting the buyer through the permitting process. Once operational, the portfolio is expected to generate around 669 GWh annually, making a meaningful contribution to Italy’s clean energy goals.

With 6 GW of projects in development globally and 17 projects (275 MW) already reaching the ready-to-build stage, Limes continues to attract top-tier institutional investors. Over the next year, it anticipates bringing an additional 100 – 150 MW to the same stage.

Managing Director Cristiano Spillati highlighted the importance of the transaction: “It reaffirms our ability to identify, develop, and deliver high-quality renewable assets. Our pipeline strength and global investor confidence showcase our commitment to accelerating the energy transition through scalable, sustainable solutions.”
