The Philippines, Sta. Rosa: Residents and businesses in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, can now expect better power quality as Manila Electric Company (Meralco) activates the newly built Mesaland substation, designed to support the area’s rapid growth.
The new 115 kV – 34.5 kV substation will improve power reliability in Sta. Rosa and Cabuyao in Laguna, as well as Silang and Tagaytay City in Cavite. This initiative aligns with Meralco’s commitment to supporting the growing demand in these expanding urban regions.
To ensure continuous power supply, the substation is equipped with two 115 kV sub-transmission feeds connected through the existing Sta. Rosa 2 – Light Industry and Science Park 115 kV line, providing N-1 contingency. The project also includes an 83 MVA power transformer, capable of supporting four new 34.5 kV distribution feeders.
The upgraded infrastructure will benefit residential areas, schools, hospitals, and businesses.
The completion of the Mesaland substation is part of Meralco’s continuous efforts to modernize its distribution network, ensuring a stable and dependable electricity supply for its customers.
