The UK: R&B Switchgear Group is powering ahead with the launch of two new UK offices in Southampton and Sunderland, aimed at enhancing their national reach and response.

The company, known for manufacturing and servicing switchgear systems that protect and control power infrastructure, says the expansion will strengthen its role in the marine, energy, rail, and utilities sectors.

The Sunderland facility joins existing sites in Heywood, Glasgow, and Aberdeen, and will focus on the servicing and retrofitting of low and high voltage switchgear across the North East. It is led by industry veteran Steve Smith, who brings experience from ABB and Dorman Smith Switchgear.

The Southampton office will function as a dedicated marine service center, already providing transformer rebuilds, emergency repairs, and maintenance to clients like P&O Cruises and MSC. Led by operations director Oliver Batt, the hub is designed to deliver rapid, specialized support to cruise and commercial fleets.

Managing Director Max Beswick added that the dual launch will enable R&B to provide a more agile, responsive service nationwide.
