USA: Power and Data Management LLC (PDM) has announced the addition of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) to its product portfolio, strengthening its role as a supplier of advanced grid technologies. The company will provide the XD|GE 145 kV, 252 kV, and 363 kV GIS with Primary Plus™ digital monitoring and diagnostics for high- to ultra-high-voltage power transmission and distribution networks.

The switchgear is designed with compact, lightweight aluminium enclosures, reducing installation space and structural load while offering a 30-year service life. According to PDM, these features provide utilities, data centres, and infrastructure developers with flexible options for both new builds and retrofits.

Key benefits include improved reliability and safety through fully enclosed live components, long-term durability from precision aluminium welding and epoxy resin casting, and reduced ownership costs thanks to minimal maintenance and faster repair access.

Jake Ring, PDM Co-Founder and President, said: “We are excited to expand our offering with this high-quality GIS. The advanced digital monitoring ensures performance and reliability as the industry transitions to higher transmission voltages.”

The product is particularly relevant as utilities upgrade ageing grid systems and as electricity demand grows, driven by expanding data centres. “The XD|GE GIS has one of the lowest fault rates globally, delivering the quality and safety our clients expect,” added Adeel Usman, VP of Sales and Marketing at PDM.

Based in the US, PDM also supplies transformers and circuit breakers, leveraging global manufacturing partnerships and its Salt Lake City operations to strengthen supply-chain resilience.
