PGCIL has been named as successful bidder under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism for two interstate transmission system (ISTS) schemes.

India: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has been named as successful bidder under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism for two interstate transmission system (ISTS) schemes. The company received the letters of intent for the schemes on February 17, 2025.

The first scheme is called “Transmission system for integration of Devanagere/Chitradurga and Bellary REZ in Karnataka”. It is located in Karnataka. The estimated cost is INR 3453 crore. The scope of the project includes the establishment of a new 765/400/220 kV pooling substation near Davangere/Chitradurga and a new 400 /220 kV PS near Bellary along with 765 kV and 400 kV D/C transmission lines and upgrade works for existing substation and transmission line.

The second scheme is called “Augmentation at Fatehgarh-II PS, Fatehgarh-IV PS (Section-II) and Barmer-I PS”. It is located in Rajasthan. The estimated cost is INR 404 crore. The scope of the project includes the augmentation at existing and under-construction pooling substations in Rajasthan, including Fatehgarh-II PS, Fatehgarh-IV PS (Section-II) and Barmer-I PS.
