UK, Leicestershire: NatPower UK Limited is exploring the development of an 80-hectare (197.6-acre) site at Lambcote Hill Farm, located south of Walcote, near Lutterworth.

The company has submitted preliminary documents for the Swinford Energy Park to Harborough District Council. According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS), the site consists of agricultural land and includes two wind turbines, part of the broader Swinford Wind Farm.

Planning documents outline that the project will feature a 400 kV transmission substation, which will connect to overhead power lines, along with a 1 GW battery energy storage system.

Before applying for full planning permission, NatPower UK has asked the council to determine whether an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is required. An EIA assesses the potential environmental effects of the development and identifies necessary mitigation measures.
