Siemens is putting an extra €100 million into expanding its Frankfurt switchgear plant in its Frankfurt site. This includes a new high-speed warehouse and more production capacity, aiming to create 400 new jobs by 2027. The investment focuses on eco-friendly construction and digital upgrades. The new site will boost the production of SF6-free, climate-neutral switchgear. Production is set to start in early 2025. This move is part of Siemens’ strategy to support a sustainable, carbon-neutral energy future.

Mark Backhaus, Site Manager, emphasized that this expansion strengthens Siemens’ commitment to climate-neutral power distribution. Stephan May, CEO of Electrification & Automation, highlighted that sustainability and digitalization are core to their strategy. The Frankfurt plant, a key player in global medium-voltage switchgear, continues to lead in sustainable technology and industrial growth.

Stephanie Wüst, Head of Economic Affairs in Frankfurt, praised Siemens’ role in transforming the Ostend district into a hub for industry and commerce.
