TCN unveils new transformer at Lagos substation
The Transmission Company of Nigeria has unveiled a new 110 MVA, 132/33 kV transformer at Isolo Transmission Station, Lagos.

Nigeria, Lagos: The Transmission Company of Nigeria has unveiled a new 110 MVA, 132/33 kV transformer at Isolo Transmission Station, Lagos. This is expected to boost electricity supply and reduce load pressure in Isolo, Ejigbo, Okota, and surrounding areas.
The transformer will significantly improve power supply to residents and businesses in the affected areas, contributing to economic growth and development in the region. The General Manager of the Lagos State Electricity Board, K.A.T. Balogun, who represented the state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, commended TCN for the infrastructure upgrade and emphasised the importance of proper maintenance and optimal utilisation of the new transformer to maximise its benefits to the community.
He said: “This new transformer will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for residents and businesses in Isolo and surrounding areas. We appreciate TCN’s commitment to enhancing electricity infrastructure in Lagos State.”
The unveiling was attended by key stakeholders, including the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu; the Managing Director of TCN, Sule Abdulaziz; the Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric, Folake Soetan and the CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company, Rakhiat Momoh, among others.
