UK, London: Terra Firma Energy (TFE) has appointed EDF (UK) as its optimisation partner across its UK-based flexible generation portfolio, starting with the 5 MW Droitwich plant.
The appointment consolidates all of TFE’s operational assets under a single trusted partner, strengthening its ability to deliver efficient and commercially optimised energy into the UK grid. EDF will oversee trading and dispatch, ensuring the portfolio is fully leveraged across wholesale markets, the Balancing Mechanism, and ancillary services.
By integrating EDF’s optimisation expertise and advanced trading platform, TFE aims to provide greater flexibility for the UK power system – balancing intermittent renewable generation while enhancing security of supply.
Zach Dodds-Brown, Development Director at Terra Firma Energy, said: “Appointing EDF as optimiser for our Droitwich site and consolidating our assets under their management is an important step in our growth strategy. EDF’s expertise and long-term approach give us confidence that our portfolio will be optimised effectively, supporting both our investors and the UK’s transition to a low-carbon energy system.”
The Droitwich facility adds to TFE’s expanding fleet of flexible generation assets across the country, all designed to operate during periods of peak demand and system stress. TFE continues to grow through both new projects and acquisitions, backed by long-term partnerships with experienced operators.
EDF, one of the UK’s largest energy companies and the leading generator of zero-carbon electricity, will use its trading and optimisation division to help maximise returns and support grid stability.
