In an exclusive interview, Deepak Sharma, CEO & MD of Schneider Electric India, outlines the company’s $370 M (₹3,200 crore) investment plan by 2026, emphasizing growth across sectors and a strong commitment to sustainability.

In a recent interview, Deepak Sharma, the CEO and Managing Director of Schneider Electric India, shed light on the company’s ambitious plans to bolster its presence in the Indian market. Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has outlined a substantial investment of $370 M by 2026 to expand its industrial footprint across nine states, including Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Sharma highlighted that Schneider Electric is deeply committed to supporting India’s energy transition. The company manages over 700 MW of renewable energy power purchase agreements and offers sustainable solutions encompassing on-site solar installations and off-site solar and wind energy procurement. Notably, approximately 15 % of solar power installed in India utilizes Schneider Electric solutions.

Looking ahead, Schneider Electric aims to become net-zero in its operations by 2030, achieve an end-to-end carbon-neutral value chain by 2040, and attain net-zero CO₂ emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. To support these objectives, the company is expanding its manufacturing capabilities, including the addition of five new factories with an investment of $162 M (₹1,400 crore) over the next two years.

Sharma also noted the company’s focus on emerging sectors such as data centers, home automation, and water management, recognizing their pivotal role in India’s digital and infrastructural growth. Schneider Electric’s Luminous brand, for instance, powers 100 million consumer homes through inverters, batteries, and solar energy solutions.

These strategic initiatives underscore Schneider Electric India’s dedication to driving sustainable growth and supporting India’s transition to a more resilient and efficient energy future.
