The team employs methods such as using insulated tools, known as hotsticks, and the barehand method, which involves wearing specially designed suits to safely handle live electrical components. These techniques are crucial for preventing outages and maintaining system integrity.

Since its inception, the SESB Live Substation Team has successfully repaired 319 critical hotspot points, averting potential disasters and ensuring continuous power supply. Financially, their work has saved SESB over RM500,000 in potential operational losses by avoiding the costs associated with power shutdowns.

The Live Substation Team’s efforts are supported by a larger workforce, including engineers, planners, and technical staff, all contributing to maintaining a stable and reliable electricity supply. Recognizing and appreciating the dedication of these teams is important, as addressing electricity supply challenges is a shared responsibility requiring patience and understanding.
