Croatia, Zagreb: HOPS – Croatian Transmission System Operator has completed the full reconstruction of the 110 / 20 kV Rakitje substation, one of the most important infrastructure projects in the Zagreb transmission area in the past three years.

The project was financed through the EU Solidarity Fund and included the complete reconstruction of the 110 kV switchyard and the construction of a new auxiliary building.

Rakitje is a strategic energy facility, crucial for the reliable supply of electricity to the western part of Zagreb and a significant part of northwest Croatia. The original switchyard, built over 65 years ago, sustained damage during recent earthquakes, which led HOPS to initiate its first comprehensive reconstruction of this vital part of the national transmission network.

HOPS continues to invest in the modernisation of grid infrastructure to ensure the stability and security of electricity supply across the country.
