Deficiencies in food, medication, water, and electricity have rendered life more intolerable for some Cubans.

Cuba’s electrical grid has deteriorated significantly due to fuel shortages, natural disasters, and an economic crisis. This year, the island’s antiquated oil-fired power plants, already facing difficulties in maintaining electricity supply, encountered a severe crisis when oil shipments from Venezuela, Russia, and Mexico diminished, resulting in several national blackouts over a two-month period.
