The Open Energy Hub is a dataset collection from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). It is envisioned as an experimental platform for the future energy sector data economy. It aims to overcome the challenge of accessing and sharing energy-related data by providing a “catalog of catalogs” approach.

The portal was first launched in May 2024 and is being continually updated with new datasets. ORNL plans to increase the number of visualizations and invite other national laboratories to share their data.

Users can submit requests for new datasets if they are not currently available on the portal. The Open Energy Hub is a groundbreaking platform that bridges gaps in energy data access and collaboration.
